The Calhoun City Chamber officially announced its new festival name, continued preparations for Spring Fling and informed members of a new event reminder service in a meeting Tuesday at lunch.
The annual Calhoun City Arts and Crafts Festival will now be called “SquareFest.” The official festival slogan is “where we all come together.”
Chamber President Laura Edwards said the new name is reflective of a rebranding effort by the chamber to shift the festival’s focus to things important to Calhoun City and its people.
“We want the festival to showcase our vast local talent and be a time for Calhoun City and Calhoun County natives to come back home,” she said.
The annual Spring Fling event is scheduled for March 27. It will be held from 5-7 p.m. at the Methodist Corner with featured businesses in five categories – spring trends (apparel and accessories), renovations (home and garden), aromas (food), motivation (health and fitness), and greening up (financial institutions).
Edwards said businesses interested in participating can call the chamber office at 628-6990.
Edwards said the chamber has also registered with a one call service that will send automated calls or texts to members for reminders of local events.
