Bruce, Calhoun City and Vardaman golfers have all opened the 2014 season on the links.
The season began with a 9-hole match at Yoda Creek where Calhoun City shot a 184 as a team to top Bruce’s 197.
Bruce’s Cameron Clarke earned medalist with a 36. Other Bruce golfers were Casey Vance 41, Nathan Hill 57, Austin Winter 63, Barrett Box 65, Rudy Ferguson 63 and Bradley Dorris 67.
Noah Hill led Calhoun City with a 40, followed by Coleman Suber 46, Jacob Ruth 48, Peyton Suber 50 and Cole Gary 57.
Brandon Walker of Vardaman shot a 40 and Cody McMahan a 71.
‘City and Bruce placed third and fourth respectively in a match at The Dogwoods in Grenada behind Koscisuko and Grenada.
Bruce golfers were Cameron Clarke 75, Casey Vance 77, Austin Winter 103, Rudy Ferguson 112, Nathan Hill 115, Barrett Box 114 and Bradley Dorris 117.
Calhoun City golfers were Noah Hill 79, Coleman Suber 89, Jacob Ruth 90 and Peyton Suber 94.
Vardaman golfers were Brandon Walker 76 and Cody McMahan 115.
Calhoun City earned first and Bruce second at a match in Pontotoc. North Pontotoc and South Pontotoc placed third and fourth.
Cameron Clarke led Bruce with a 38, followed by Casey Vance 40, Barrett Box 60, Austin Winter 62, Rudy Ferguson 63, Nathan Hill 57, Bradley Dorris 60 and Colbin Necaise 56.
Noah Hill led Calhoun City with a 38, followed by Coleman Suber 44, Peyton Suber 48, Cole Gary 57 and Jacob Ruth 57.
Brandon Walker shot 37 and Cody McMahan 61 for Vardaman.
