Readers of all ages will explore all things science this summer as Jesse Yancy Memorial Library in Bruce presents the “Fizz Boom, Read!” Summer Library Program.
There will be experiments, prizes, stories, and of course, lot of fun! The 2014 Summer Reading Program is open to young people, ages 2-11.
Registration for “Fizz,Boom, Read!” is underway. All registering participants will receive a Fizz Boom Read goody-bag while supplies last. Registration is not required to participate. Programs begin on June 2-3 and are free of charge.
Schedule:
Ages 2-3 Mondays at 10:30 a.m.
Ages 4-6 Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m.
Ages 7-11 Mondays at 1:30 a.m.
Young adults, ages 12-18, are encouraged to “Spark a Reaction” at Jesse Yancy Memorial Library’s Summer Library Program.
Registration for “Spark A Reaction” is underway. Registering participants will receive a “Spark a Reaction” book bag and a free book. Programs are Tuesdays at 3:30 p.m. and include a “Divergent” party and chemical reaction art. Programs begin on Tuesday, June 3.
In addition to the weekly programs, there will be two Summer Reading Family Nights.
On Tuesday, June 3 at 6 p.m., Puppet Arts Theatre will be presenting “Trickster Tales starring Anansi the Spider.”
This event is made possible by a grant from the Mississippi Arts Commission, the National Endowment for the Arts and matched by Friends of the Library.
On Tuesday, June 24 at 6 p.m., Animal Tales of Kentucky will be bringing animals from all parts of the Animal Kingdom. Planned animals include a Burmese python, an African bullfrog and an ivory billed Acari.
