Calhoun County has nearly 1,300 acres of grain sorghum (milo) planted this year. This field is just east of Vardaman. Milo is becoming a more popular crop around Calhoun for crop rotation purposes, particularly with the sweet potato farmers, due to its ability to control nematodes.
