Bertram Norton Sanders, 82, of Pittsboro died Sunday, September 21, 2014 at North MS Medical Center in Tupelo. He was born July 20, 1932 to Annie Cotton in Marvelle, Ar. He was retired from the Army, served in the Vietnam War, and was a member of New Gauley Freewill Baptist Church.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Sept. 24, from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. at Pryor Funeral Home in Calhoun City. Bro. Gregg Bounds will be officiating, and burial will be in New Gauley Cemetery in Calhoun City. Pallbearers are Troy Moore, Thomas Moore, Kelly Moore, Jonathan Stegall, Carl Bryant and Mike Bounds. Honorary pallbearers are Gary Aldridge, Ed Kannada, Freddy Barton, Gerald Hubbard, Kermit Dye, Larry Clements, Dustin Kannada and Brian Kannada.
He is survived by his wife, Delmer Lockhart Sanders, Pittsboro; one daughter, Lori Stewart, Bruce; special nephew, Ed Kannada, Oxford; two grandchildren, Rebecca Stewart and Courtney Stegall, and one great grandchild, Stabler Stegall. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and three brothers.
