Calhoun City hosted its 1st Annual Breast Cancer Walk Oct. 25, sponsored by Black Girls Rock of Mississippi and its director Santee Ezell. The program honored those who were lost to the disease and survivors. The walk, held on the track at Calhoun City High School, began with prayer, survivor testimonies, and lighting a candle for all those impacted by the disease. Among the many participants were, from left, Patrice Powell, Precious Thompson and Ronda Owens. Powell and Owens lost their sister Olivia “Jeno” Westmoreland to breast cancer last year.
