Bruce High School is looking for a new fast pitch softball coach. Bruce Head Coach Angie Owen and Vardaman assistant Kayla Long’s resignations are scheduled to be approved by the school board when they meet Thursday night in Pittsboro.
Owen said she needed to resign for health reasons. She missed much of the slow pitch season due to a prolonged hospital stay.
BHS Principal Michael Gillespie said they are working to find a replacement, but may not have one to recommend by Thursday’s meeting.
Other items on the Thursday agenda include:
•hiring substitute teachers – Kelly Nolan (BUES), James Hall (CTC), Leslie Haire (VES), Tommy Brown (CCHS).
•Ladonna Williams to be hired as a substitute cafeteria worker.
•approving Title III English Language Acquisition program application in the amount of $32,262 and 2015 Title VI Rural and Low Income application for $46,498.
