Calhoun City defeated East Webster Friday night 35-14 to advance to their second consecutive Class 2A State Championship Game.

The Wildcats will again face Bassfield, the team they lost to in last year’s state title tilt, on Friday, Dec. 5 at 2:30 p.m. at Davis Wade Stadium at Mississippi State University in Starkville.
Calhoun City will enter the game unbeaten on the season. Bassfield has lost twice this year, once to East Marion, who they defeated 18-12 in four overtimes Friday to advance to state.
“I’m so proud of our seniors in making this happen,” Calhoun City Coach Perry Liles said. “We’re going to face a great team at state, but tonight we’re going to enjoy this one. I’m proud of this team.”
