‘City teams sweep Eupora

After splitting their two games in Florida, the Calhoun City Wildcats returned to Mississippi to defeat Houston last Saturday 89-85 in overtime.

David Draine, who hit a shot at the buzzer to send the game into the extra session, and Tyius Jennings led all scorers with 35 and 34 points respectively. Austin Burl chipped in 11. Uriah Shepard led Houston with 18.
The Wildcats are now 4-2 on the season.

Tuesday night both teams swept Eupora. The Lady Wildcats won 62-38 with Destiny Bush scoring 14, Maya Armstrong 11, Tyra Tucker and Adaysia Edwards 10 each.

The boys won 64-42. Jarvis Heard scored 18, Draine and Jennings each had 17.

Their scheduled home game with Houston for this Friday night has been postponed until January due to the Wildcats playing in the football state championship Friday afternoon in Starkville.
‘City basketball will return to action Saturday when they play in the Okolona shootout. The girls play West Oktibbeha at 1 p.m. and the boys play Nettelton at 4 p.m.
