Calhoun County won the Cal-Chick Challenge in Houlka Saturday winning four of six games.
The Bruce Lady Trojans won the opener 54-46 over Okolona. Kalisha Parks led Bruce with 14 points. Chaterrika Martin and Brooke Logan each scored 12. Telgee Hicks led Okolona with 14.
The Okolona boys won game two defeating Vardaman 75-29. Malik McKinney led the Rams with 10 points. Kent Casey scored five. Ladarius Spears scored 18 for the Chieftains.
Calhoun County bounced back when the Vardaman Lady Rams’ smothering defense carried them to a 58-50 win over Houston. Tiara Jones led Vardaman with 17 points. Diamond Vance scored 13, Alaysia Madkins and Shylysses Rimmer 10 each. Candace Woodhouse led Houston with 21.
Chickasaw County evened the tournament in game four when Houston boys defeated the Bruce Trojans 79-52. Tyrique Gunn led Bruce with 10 points. Markas Gladney scored nine and Antarrius Glass seven. Zykeil Virges led Houston with 17.
Calhoun County would win the day with Calhoun City sweeping the final two games against host Houlka. The Lady Wildcats were first up earning a 68-20 win. Sierra Coleman led the Lady Wildcats with 14 points. Maya Armstrong and Tyra Tucker each scored 11.
The Wildcats would close the night with a 72-66 win over Houlka. Ladavius Draine led ‘City with 24 points. Austin Burl added 19 and Brieton Sykes 17. Madarius Hobson led Houlka with 26.
