Patsy Pendergrass

Patsy Cofer Pendergrass, 71, went to her heavenly home Friday, January 2, 2015 at University Medical Center of Grenada.  She was born September 12, 1943  in Calhoun County, to the late James “Jimmy” Hornsby and Gatha Potts Cofer.  She was a member of First Baptist Church of Coffeeville, a former member of the Water Valley CB club, and the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 4488 in Grenada.  She enjoyed playing Bingo and card games, crocheting, cooking, and working crossword puzzles.  She was a devoted mother and loved spending time with her family and friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015 from 6-8 pm at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley.  Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Bro. Ken Sally, Bro. Truman Scarborough and Bro. Tracy Wilson officiating.  Burial will be in the Elam Cemetery in Yalobusha County, with James Aston, Steven Aston, James Pendergrass, Brett Pendergrass, Nathan Nill and Anthony Cox serving as pallbearers.  Will Aston, James Potts, Ron Cox, Gabe Crumley and Garrett Crumley will serve as honorary pallbearers.

She is survived by her three daughters, Deborah (Robert) Aston, Calhoun City; Donna (David) Hill, Bruce, and Dianne (Eddie) Brewer, Coffeeville; two sons, David (Neysa) Pendergrass, Forrest City, AR and John Pendergrass, Memphis; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; her sister, Lois (Marshall) Gilmer; her brothers, Bill (Ann) Cofer and Bobby (Judy) Cofer; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, W. D. Pendergrass, her son, James Aubrey Pendergrass, two sisters, Vergie Campbell and Betty Cox; and her brother, Jim Cofer.
