A Calhoun County Solid Waste worker was transported by ambulance to the hospital after he was injured when the garbage truck he was riding crashed into a utility pole.
The accident occurred just before 10 a.m. when the truck was attempting to empty a dumpster at Bruce High School. The truck backed into a utility pole taking it to the down and bringing the phone line down to within a few feet of the ground.
Kevin Moore, who was riding on the back of the truck, fell to the asphalt on his back during the accident. The severity of his injuries is not known at this time.
Bruce and Chickenbone fire department, Bruce police, Calhoun sheriff’s office and PEPA workers all responded to the scene.
