Bruce native Andrew Bryant has a new solo album “This is The Life” that came out yesterday, and he is getting a lot of publicity on it.
Andrew was featured in the weekend section of the Clarion Ledger Friday on the Music Scene page.
He will be singing this Thursday night at Proud Larry’s in Oxford.

South Newburger in Bruce has seen a lot of activity in the past couple of years, and a couple of businesses have moved there in the past month.
Nancy Bennett’s Cash-N-Go moved from the square to the former House of Styles building. She has also opened a consignment shop in part of the building.
Vicki Massey moved her monogramming business to the former Jo Turner beauty shop location next to Noelle’s this week. Vicki was in the building with her brother Joe at Y’all Come T-Shirts.
With Patchwork opening last year, Noelle’s a couple of years ago and Methodist Rummage building, retail in that strip is really booming. It has been a really long time, since we have had that many retail businesses in that area.

Marshall and Whitney have been out of town, so Joel and I have had the girls for several days. The girls spent the night with us a good bit on the weekends, but not often on school nights and not this many days in a row.
Addi Claire spent the night with a cousin Saturday night, so I had three year old Ellie Kathryn alone. Joel had gone to the Ole Miss basketball game.
I needed a couple of things in Oxford, so I ran an errand and took her to PetsMart to see snakes, cats, fish, rats and birds.
We stopped by Oby’s, her favorite place to eat, before coming home. She loves the cheese dip, the chicken and the pink fruit salad that is served with dessert.
I decided I could make that myself and whipped some up Sunday just by guessing. I used a can of strawberry pie filling and a tub of Cool Whip. It tastes identical to Oby’s version and she loved it.
Addi Claire’s favorite thing for me to “cook” is store bought rotisserie chicken. She asks all the time if I can “make” that chicken she likes. Monday night, she wanted bread with cheese that sticks to it. It took a second, before I realized she meant cheese toast.
So I made her a couple of pieces and she said “Grana, you are the best cook ever.”
How easy is that– Rotisserie chicken and cheese toast!
This is the first time I’ve kept them on a weeknight since Addi Claire started school.
It’s one thing to get them ready to go to day care by 8:10 a.m., but quite another to get them and me ready to go by 7:30 a.m. I have gotten up a lot earlier while they have been here.
Marshall said Ellie Kathryn doesn’t like to get up in the morning, but at our house, she is ready to roll. She first wants to see where Jack the dog is, which gets her up and moving.
It brought back a lot of memories of the years and years of getting my children and me up and around, and not even having time to make up the bed.
