Morris Parker, 80, Calhoun City, died Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015, at Calhoun County Nursing Home in Calhoun City. Born October 21, 1934, he was the son of the late Curtis and Effie Lester Parker. He was a member of Taylor Church of God of Prophecy and, a retired farm supply salesman.
Surviving are sons, Michael Wayne Parker, Plantersville, and Alan Wells Parker, Tupelo; brothers, James Parker, Hernando, and Jerry Parker, Vardaman; sisters, Debbie Wiggs, Calhoun City; Peggy Jennings, Greenwood, and Vera Nell Smith, Plano, TX; grandchildren, Lauren Elizabeth Parker, and Ana Michelle Parker, and great grandchild Rachel Humphrey. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ruth Keel.
His funeral service was Monday at 3 p.m. at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Bro. Sherman Adams officiating. Interment was in Memory Memorial Garden. Pallbearers were Jason Jennings, John Jennings, Mark Jennings, Paul Jennings, Stephen Jennings, Bradford Parker, Jon Parker and Stephen Smith.
