Victor Thacker

Victor Thacker, 92, of Vardaman died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2015 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-NMS  in Oxford.  He was born April 22, 1922 in Savannah, TN to Barney Thacker and Icie Hughes Thacker. He was a retired farmer and school bus driver, a World War II Army Veteran and a member of New Providence Baptist Church.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2015 from 5-8 p.m. at Pryor Funeral Home in Calhoun City. The funeral service will be Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Pryor Funeral Home Chapel in Calhoun City, with Bro. John Stewart officiating. Burial will be in New Providence Cemetery in Calhoun City. Pryor Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers are Richard Thacker, Joe Edmondson, Trent Edmondson, Bobby Thacker, Billy Thacker, and Madie Moore. Honorary pallbearers are Terry Moore, Ray James, Phil Lucius, John Jasper Adams, and New Providence Baptist Church Men’s Sunday School Class.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Louise Morphis Thacker, Vardaman; one daughter, Jackie Parker, West Point; two grandchildren, Nicholas (Lacie) Gibson, and Alyson Parker; two great-grandchildren, Ragan Caroll Gibson, and Grady Allen Gibson. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and five brothers.
