Jimmy Curtis Luther, 67, of Houlka, died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2015, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Born Saturday, February 22, 1947 in Calhoun County, he was the son of the late William C. “Bill” Luther and the late Mary McDonald Luther. He was retired from the U.S. Army National Guard after serving 43 years, from 1966 until 2009. He was a member of Cooke Memorial Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife Dianne Steele Luther of Houlka; a son, Michael (Tabitha) Luther, Pontotoc; daughter, Michelle (Joey) Moody, Houlka; eight grandchildren, Brett Hood, Nikki McCord, Shelby Luther, Marley Hood, Katie Ruth Luther, Hope Moody, Dakota Moody, Tyler Moody; four sisters, Maybelle Fisk, Grenada; Louise Potts, Potts Camp; Vivian Washington, Pontotoc; Minnie Brogden, Bartlett, TN; three brothers, Thomas McCammon, Bruce; Elton McCammon, Tupelo, and Cecil Edwards, Houston.
His funeral service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Bro. Junior Ritchie officiating. Interment will be in New Cooke Cemetery,
