Calhoun City’s powerlifting team placed third at last weekend’s division meet and qualified four lifters for North Half competition.

Steele Liles set a region one record with his performance winning the 165 pound class.
Jyair Pierce of Calhoun City earned second in the 165 class. Keeshun Bobo placed second in 242.
Keshun Parker finished third in the 198 class.
East Union took top team honors in district with Bruce second. The North Half meet is March 7.
Girls’ powerlifting teams from Bruce, Calhoun City and Vardaman will compete in a local meet March 2. Theire North Half is March 20.
