With graduation quickly approaching, BHS seniors are hustling to finish work, working to complete classes, and making final decisions about college.
The teaching staff has also been extremely busy contemplating which students they felt should be in the Hall of Fame and Outstanding Teens and who should be elected as Mr. and Miss BHS.
Even though time is ticking by and dwindling by the day for these seniors, some have taken the time to express their gratitude to all of the teachers at BHS for rewarding them with this tremendous honor.
Students in the Bruce High School Hall of Fame for the Class of 2015 include Zack Cruthirds, Tyler Donovan, Drake Ivy, Cara May, McKenzie Morris, Anna Leise Tedford, Chelsea Tillman and Ramon Tillman.
“It’s a true honor! Being a part of BHS along with all of the sweet memories that have been made here has been a blessing. Even though our time is running out, I’m even more thankful that seven other students and myself get to be recognized and remembered in such a special way,” said Cara May.
“It’s one thing to be honored for sports, but being honored for academics and personality is definitely much better. It shows that people know you’re destined for greatness!” said Ramon Tillman.
BHS Outstanding Teens are Cheyenne Bryant, Carlos Cervantes, Cade Clark, Torie Patton, Kim Ratliff, Dustin Russell, Savannah Smith, Tamera Talford, Dallas Turner and Mikala Turner.
“I’m so grateful to my teachers for honoring me with the title, and it feels really great knowing my academic hard work paid off,” said Kim Ratliff.
“It feels ‘outstanding’ to know that the amazing staff of BHS even thought about me for this,” said Cade Clark.
During this process, the staff also determined that Carlos Cervantes and Anna Leise Tedford would be the face of Bruce’s 2015 senior class as M/M BHS.
“It is a great honor! I mean, I had no clue I got elected until Anna Leise told me. I’m just shocked and speechless,” said Cervantes.
“I was very surprised when I found out that I had been chosen to be Miss BHS. There are so many deserving young women in the senior class that would fit the title perfectly. Being elected for Miss BHS is a blessing that I am extremely grateful for,” said Tedford.
