The Bruce Lady Trojans and Vardaman Lady Rams will both begin postseason play this week, but who they will face and exact starting times weren’t known as of press time.

Madison Bullard

The Vardaman Lady Rams are scheduled to open their playoff series Thursday against either Biggersville or Pine Grove. Those teams are scheduled to play Wednesday night. Vardaman would get the loser of that game in a best of three series.
The Lady Rams secured their playoff berth last week with a 13-3 win over Houlka.

Sydney Huffman earned the win allowing only three hits while striking out six.
Madison Bullard led the offense with three hits. Megan Havens and Mary Grace Davis each had two.
The Lady Rams followed that with a 2-1 win over Myrtle. Huffman allowed only one hit in seven innings of work.
Bullard, Laci Jo Fugett and Anna Beth Lucius each had two hits.

“We have finally found a lineup that works for us defensively and our bats have started getting pretty hot,” Vardaman Coach Kelsey Nelson said. “We have a pretty young team, but after getting a few games under their belt they have gained a lot more confidence.”

The Bruce Lady Trojans are also scheduled to open the playoffs this Thursday but don’t know yet who their opponent will be and whether they will be at home Thursday or away.
The most likely scenario appeared to have the Lady Trojans matching up with New Site and hosting them Thursday at 5 p.m. and then going there for games two and three on Friday.

Nothing will be finalized until after games that were scheduled to be played Tuesday night were final.
The Lady Trojans closed out their region schedule last week with a 16-0 loss to East Webster. Monday they played at Calhoun City in a game added to the end of the schedule last week and lost 7-3.
