The CCHS, CCMS, and Calhoun City Beginner Bands gave their spring concert on April 26 at the CCHS Auditorium.
The concert was held to showcase all that the band has learned this year.
The beginner and middle schools bands played medleys of different songs they have been learning and impressed the audience with their talent.
The high school band wowed the audience with selections from their recent competition in Ridgeland along with a challenging tune that mimicked a train robbery.
Awards were given to all three bands.
In the fifth grade band, Kaylin Hutchins and Aniya Hych received the “most improved” award, and Hope Harris was named “most outstanding” band member.
Middle school band student Arianna Campbell received the “most improved” award, Lillian Bailey received “most outstanding” and Donovan Foster was given an award for “best attitude.”
In the high school band, Lankendria Armstrong was named “most outstanding” and Anna Katherine Edgeworth “most improved.”
Band Director, Dustin Thrasher said, “All the students did an amazing job.”
Several parents were in attendance and baked goods were sold to raise money for the band.
