The Calhoun City golf team won the Class 2A state championship today at The Trace in Tupelo. The Wildcats shot 692 over the two days to earn first over Union who shot 708. Baldwyn finished third at 721, Clarkdale fourth with 767 and Loyd Star fifth at 1,080..
Noah Hill led the Wildcats shooting 71-75-146 to earn second overall. Bruce’s Cameron Clarke finished third overall shooting 73-77-150. Andy Ogletree, of Union, earned first overall shooting a 71-69-140.
Other Calhoun City golfers were Coleman Suber 78-86-165, Jacob Ruth 83-83-176 and Cole Gary 100-105-205.
Vardaman’s Brandon Walker finished fourth in the Class 1A state tournament.
