Wayne “Honky” Harris is scheduled to return to court this morning (Friday) after it was initially continued on Monday.

Harris has been incarcerated in the Calhoun County Jail since turning himself in on June 28 after being indicted by the Grand Jury on charges of depraved heart murder, touching a child for lustful purposes, and four counts of sexual battery.
He appeared in court at the Calhoun County Courthouse in Pittsboro Monday dressed in an orange, prison jump suit. His attorneys asked for a continuance in the hearing which was granted by Judge Andrew Howorth.
The hearing is tentatively scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Friday, Aug. 9.
Calhoun County Circuit Court’s current term will continue all next week.
