Vardaman and both Calhoun City boys' and girls' teams earned wins in the Leonard Holland Classic Saturday at CCHS.
The Lady Rams opened the seven-game classic by defeating Houston 45-43. Shylysses Rimmer led Vardaman with 12 points. Chasidy Holmes added 11, Brittany Hawkins and Diamond Vance eight each.
The Bruce Lady Trojans fell 64-33 to Grenada. Chaterika Martin led Bruce with eight points. Kalisha Parks scored seven.
The Trojans lost 59-48 to Nettleton. Justin Flemons led with 11 points. Raquerios Spicer and Cameron Clarke each scored nine.
Calhoun City's Lady Wildcats opened their season defeating Charleston 73-54. Tyra Tucker led with 22 points. Maya Armstrong scored 16 and Mykeria Holland 12.
The Wildcats defated Charleston 78-43 in the final game of the day.
In other games not involving Calhoun County teams, Eupora girls defeated Coffeeville 46-27 and South Panola girls defeated Shannon 60-58.
