Calhoun City teams continue to win

Calhoun City swept Coffeeville last week with the boys winning 84-59. Ladavius Draine led with 24 points. Tyius Jennings and Jarvis Heard each scored 18.

The Wildcats are 2-1 on the season entering Thanksgiving holidays. They played Monday and Tuesday in Florida.
“We’re trying to build our intensity level up right now,” Coach Daren Coffey said.
His team will pick up five players from the football team after their season ended.

The Lady Wildcats defeated Coffeeville 72-26. Tyra Tucker led with 22 points. Shartesia Cousins and Mykeria Holland each scored 12. Maya Armstrong added 11 and Drekiya Flowers 10.

“We lost eight players from last year’s state tournament team, but that will not be an excuse to lose,” Coach Rob Fox said. “We are young but not inexperienced. Our older players are going to have to take a leadership role and a few others are going to have to be productive for us to be successful.”
