The Bruce Lady Trojans opened the 2013 slow pitch softball season winning two of their first three games.
They defeated rival Calhoun City 3-1 in the Eupora Classic.
“It’s always nice to beat our county rival,” first year head coach Brad Wren said. “Our team played hard and finished the day on a positive note.”
In their previous game at the Eupora Classic they were defeated 12-0 by East Webster.
“We lost to a very talented East Webster team,” Wren said.
The Lady Trojans traveled to Coffeeville Monday and earned a 22-10 win.
“Our girls picked up a hard fought road win. It’s never easy to win on the road, but it is necessary,” Wren said. “We still have a lot to improve on, but I am excited about the direction we are headed in.”
