Another house break-in has been added to the ongoing investigation that covers several counties.

The most recent break-in and Calhoun County occurred last week at the home of Johnny Davidson, on Hwy. 341 South.
Davidson came home from church last Wednesday night and discovered someone had been in his home.

Sheriff Pollan

Sheriff Greg Pollan said there were no signs of forced entry.
A big screen TV, a leaf blower and some jewelry were among the items stolen.

The Davidson house is one of several in South Calhoun broken into over the past month. All the burglaries appear to have occurred in daylight in hours at homes in very rural areas.

There have also been similar reports of more than a dozen homes in Webster and some in Chickasaw counties. Sheriff Pollan said they believe they are all connected.

In each of the burglaries, items such as guns, more often stolen in break-ins, have been passed over for more common household items. Sheriff Pollan said some of the homes had hairdryers and cosmetics taken.

He urged citizens to keep their doors and windows locked when not at home and to contact the sheriff’s department if they see anything or anyone they believe suspicious.
