Alvin Ray Gulledge

Alvin Ray Gulledge, 84, of Calhoun City, died September 6, 2013 at Calhoun Health Services in Calhoun City. He was born July 7, 1929 in Big Creek, the son of Walter Gulledge and Ora Lee Cantrell Gulledge. He was a retired presser for Kellwood Company, was a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church, and served in the U.S. Air Force.

His funeral service was Sunday at 3 p.m. at Pryor Funeral Home Chapel in Calhoun City with Rev. Jimmy Vance officiating. Burial was in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens in Calhoun City. Pallbearers were Brian Allen, Bill Butler, Mark Callahan, Matt Callahan, Chuck Terry and Taylor Terry. Honorary pallbearers were Lenon White and R.B. Stewart.

Survivors include his son, Stanley Ray (Diane) Gulledge, Calhoun City; two brothers, James Gulledge, Water Valley, and Bobby Gulledge, Calhoun City; three grandchildren, Kevin Mitchell and Kyle Ray (Courtney) Gulledge; one great-grandchild on the way, Nora, and a very special friend, Carlene Goodson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lula Belle Butler Gulledge; two sisters, Jessie Mae Reedy and Louise Ritchie, and one brother, George Arnold Gulledge.
