Betty Riley Hall, age 63, died Thursday, November 21, 2013 at her home in Water Valley. She was born in Yalobusha County on January 9, 1950 to the late Willie A. and Jessie Gooch Riley. Betty worked for years in the deli at Piggly Wiggly in Water Valley, and was a member of Pine Grove Baptist MB Church. She was an excellent cook, enjoyed singing and was very active in her church. She loved her children, grandchildren, family and friends.
Visitation will be held Monday, November 25, 2013 from 5:00 pm to 7 p.m. at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, November 26, 2013 in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Pastor Johnny Roland, Pastor Alexander, Pastor Person and Pastor Steen officiating. Burial will be in the Pine Grove Church Cemetery. The repast will be held at the Sanders Chapel Gymnasium in Water Valley.
Betty is survived by her husband of forty-four years, Ezra Hall of Water Valle; her son, Eric (Earlene) Riley, Water Valley; two sisters, Mildred (Charles) Haywood, University Park, IL and Georgia Hall of St. Louis, MO; two brothers, James (Mary) Riley (Mary) and Robert Riley, all of Water Valley; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Tony Riley.
