Calhoun City swept the first basketball matchup of the season with rival Bruce in convincing fashion Friday night.
The Trojans led early in the second period of the boys’ game but no later in a 75-60 Wildcat win.
Austin Burl led the Wildcats with 15 points. Ladavius Draine scored 14, Chakel Gates 12 and Levarious Varnado 11.
Donta Armstrong of Bruce led all scorers with 23 points.
Jay Johnson added 14 for the Trojans and Justin Flemons 10.
The Lady Wildcats never trailed in a 73-30 win over Bruce.
Alison Childs led all scorers with 16 points.
Destiny Bush added 15, Maya Armstrong 14 and V Farmer 12 for ‘City.
Ladestiny Carter led Bruce with six points.
