James David Owens Jr., 61, died Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. He was born Jan. 18, 1952, in Calhoun City. He was an Army veteran and a former steel mill worker.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 23, at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Vardaman with Bro. Jon Haimes officiating. Parker Memorial Funeral Home of Vardaman is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Vickie McBay Owens of Vardaman; two sisters, Shelia Pierce of Monticello, In. and Pamela Cox of Calhoun City; two brothers, Billy Owens of Hammond, In. and Keith Owens of Clarksville, Tn.; and his mother, Martha Ree Crutchfield Giglio, Calhoun City. He was preceded in death by his father, James William Owens.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
