Roger Paul Turner, 67, of Southaven, died January 1, 2014 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto in Southaven. He was born September 9, 1946 in Bruce, the son of A.B. and Opal Harwell Turner. He was a Mason, member of Hernando Lodge #51, and a Vietnam Veteran, serving in the U.S. Air Force. He was a retired commercial trucker. Visitation will be Saturday from noon until time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce. Bro. J.R. Eaton will be officiating. Burial will be in Bruce Cemetery and pallbearers will be Brian Covington, Bryce Covington, Chris Millican, Tony Thompson, Collins Vanderhook, Scott Vanderhook and Timmy Vanderhook. Survivors include his special friend and companion, Tashia King, Southaven; two daughters, Paula Ables, Southaven, and Salenia Moore, Memphis; two step-daughters, Heather Bandy, Southaven, and Kim Smith, Arkansas; one step-son, Brian Covington, Suothaven; grandchildren, Danielle Covington, Briley Covington, Bryce, Timmy and Collin Vanderhook, Kayla and Hailey Covington, Jade and Jacob Chappell, and great granddaughter, Madelynn Covington.
