Then gather the whole family for a Family Movie Party from 11 a.m.-12:45 p.m. Bring your sack lunch – we’ll provide the popcorn. Movie rated PG.

This month’s movie: “An ex-supervillain is recruited by an international crime-fighting group to help deal with a powerful new super criminal.” Can you guess the movie?

Join us at Jesse Yancy Memorial Library in Bruce for a Brown Bag Luncheon Tuesday, Jan. 28 at noon.
Our special guest is local author Anita Havens. Havens will be sharing from her two newest books “The Terrorist” and “That’s Why We Sang The Blues.”

“The Terrorist” takes us to a quaint, southern college town, seemingly the least likely place in the world to harbor a terrorist threat-a genetically engineered virus that could wipe out civilization as we know it. But when a renowned scientist vanishes—along with a supply of the hybrid virus used to make smallpox vaccine—FBI agent Stillwater fears the worst.

“That’s Why We Sang The Blues” is a collection of poems and the authentic Depression Era photographs that inspired them. All photographs were taken in the South between 1935 and 1944 and have captured the hard life that gave birth to the Blues in poignant, still images.

Be sure to join us as we hear from this wonderful local author. Dessert and coffee will be served. For more information on this and other events, call the library at 983-2220 or check us out on Facebook at “Fans of the Jesse Yancy Memorial Library.”
