Bobby Gene Baker, 84, of Pittsboro, died February 15, 2014 at his home. He was born September 26, 1929 in Big Creek, the son of Jacob Stanton Baker and Raythel Crenshaw Baker. He was a member of Mt. Comfort Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army and was a retired employee of Brookwood Furniture. His funeral service is today, Monday, at 2 p.m. at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Bruce with Bro. J.R. Eaton officiating and Bro. Robert Earl Alexander assisting. Burial will be in Bruce Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Danny Baker, Mark Scott Baker, Scott Cook, Billy Ray James, Buddy James and Tony Ruth. Survivors include his wife, Dorthia Cook Baker, Pittsboro; sons, Bobby Lee (Irene)?Baker, Tupelo, and Byron Craig (Autumn)?Baker, Pittsboro; daughter, Annette (Phil)?Adams, LaGrange, Ga.; one sister, Martha Faye Massey, Paris; two brothers, J.S. Baker and Durell Baker, both of Bruce, and grandchildren, Jay Adams and Emily Morris, and eight great grandchildren.
