Christine Harbour

Christine Thornton Harbour, 94, Coffeeville, passed away Saturday, February 15,  2014 at the Yalobusha General Nursing Home in Water Valley.  She was born October 17, 1919 in Calhoun County to the late James and Myrtle Thornton.  She was a retired bookkeeper for Yalobusha Lumber Company and a homemaker.  She had been a faithful member of the Coffeeville United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at 2 p.m.  at Coffeeville United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the Harbour Cemetery near Coffeeville.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. 

Survivors include a daughter, Carole Martin, Coffeeville; one granddaughter, Kristina Harbour Switzer, Coffeeville; one grandson, Michael Harbour, Batesville; five great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews and by many children ‘of the heart’ who were blessed to reside in the Harbour’s home through the years and many good, loving friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, M.H. Harbour; three sons, Michael Holmes Harbour, George Harbour and Johnny Mike Harbour; a daughter-in-law, Laura Jo Harbour and a brother and sister-in-law, Q.T. and Mary Thornton.

 Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce has been entrusted with arrangements.
