The Bruce Lady Trojans defeated Calhoun City 11-7 last Thursday in a pivotal division game.
Abbie Patton earned the win for Bruce going the distance and striking out 11 Lady Wildcats.
Avery Bullard took the loss for ‘City striking out five. Seven of the 11 runs scored were earned.
Bailey Massey led the Lady Trojans at the plate with two doubles and a single. Jessica Aron had a single and a double.
Alison Childs led the Lady Wildcats’ offense with three hits. Bullard and Landyn Stoddard each had two hits.
It was the second win of the season over Calhoun City for the Lady Trojans.
Bruce won the first meeting 10-3 in the county tournament. The two are scheduled to meet again Thursday night at Calhoun City.
Bruce will then host Vardaman Friday night at Bruce Park and play at Smithville next Monday.
Calhoun City is scheduled to visit Charleston on Friday and host Water Valley and West Point on Saturday and then Eupora in another division matchup next Monday.
