Moody Brooks Tyler, 94, of Bruce, died May 13, 2014 at BMH-NM in Oxford. He was born November 19, 1919 in Calhoun County, the son of Floyd Jackson Tyler and Daisy Jane Bond Tyler. He married Cuvis Hall Tyler July 29, 1939. He was retired from Memphis Hardwood Flooring Co. after 51 years, and retired as manager of Mt. Comfort Water System after 24 years. He was a member of Bruce First Baptist Church.
Visitation will be Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce. His funeral service will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Alex Croxton officiating. Burial will be in Memory Memorial Garden. Pallbearers will be Eric Carr, Clint Dishman, Jeffrey Hall, Mark Hall, Rickey Hall, Jason Hyde, Buck Langford, and Larry Mize. Honorary pallbearers will be member of A.H. Ward’s Sunday School Class.
Survivors include his wife, Cuvis Hall Tyler, Bruce; four sons, Gerald (Rosa) Tyler, Lilburn, GA; Donald (Ginger) Tyler, Bartlett, TN., Paul Ray (Kay) Tyler, Bruce, and Mike (Judy) Tyler, Counce, TN; one brother, David (Jana) Tyler, Magnolia, TX; six grandchildren, Susan (Alex) Croxton, Steven (Tara) Tyler, Robert (Teena) Tyler, Sharissa (Barry) Beech, Adam (Natalie) Tyler; Alison (Phillip) Tyler, and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, T.J. Tyler; two sisters, Johnnie Cannon and Frances Tyler, and a grandson, Allen Brooks Tyler.
