A Derma man has been arrested on multiple counts of sexual battery, child pornography and touching a child for lustful purposes.

Aaron Lee Patane, 36, was taken into custody Tuesday evening after a search was conducted at his home on Brumley Street in Derma.
Sheriff Greg Pollan said their investigation began when they were notified of concerns from the Department of Human Services related to the health of a small child.
The child was taken Tuesday to Tupelo for a forensic interview, Pollan said, and a search warrant was issued for Patane’s home based on the findings in that interview.
Patane currently faces two charges of sexual battery of a child, two counts of touching a child for lustful purposes and two counts of possession of child pornography.
Pollan said more charges are possible as the investigation continues.
Patane remains in custody at the Calhoun County Jail.
