Charles D. Hollis, 67, of Vernon, Al., formerly of Bruce, died December 28, 2014 at Brookwood Medical Center, Birmingham, Al. He was born March 14, 1927 in Booneville to J.D. and Dorothy Hollis. He was a graduate of Bruce High School and was a retired forklift operator.
His funeral was December 31 at the Fountain of Life Church, where he was a member. He loved his Lord and enjoyed going to church, auctions, and spending time with his wife and family.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Merchant Hollis, Vernon; one daughter, Tabatha (Lee) Baker, Booneville; two step-daughters, Judy (Johnny) Smith, Vernon, and Lisa (Joe) Graves, Millport; one step-son, Jerry (Tracy) Merchant, Vernon; one brother, Robert (Sharon) Hollis, New Boston, Tx.; three grandchildren, 16 step-grandchildren and 10 step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an infant sister.
