It was another successful weekend for Calhoun City basketball as they completed sweeps of Bruce and Houston.

The Wildcats topped the Trojans 81-31 Friday night. Austin Burl led all scorers with 21 points. Tyius Jennings added 15 and Brieton Sykes 13. Jamar Brown led Bruce with 12 points.

The Lady Wildcats won 82-46. Tyra Tucker and Sierra Coleman each scored 12. Mykeria Holland added 11 and Shonteria Penson 10. Makesha Harris led Bruce with 26 points.

Saturday night, the Lady Wildcats defeated Houston 69-41. The boys were also victorious 89-66 with Ladavius Draine scoring 22, Tyius Jennings 21, Brieton Sykes 16 and Austin Burl 13.

Vardaman Lady Rams fall in Belmont

The Lady Rams were in action Saturday at Belmont in the Cardinal Challenge. They were defeated by Walnut 63-42.

Shylysses Rimmer led the Lady Rams with 14 points.
