Eight Bruce Trojans advanced to the North Half powerlifting meet after this weekend’s division competition.
Rowdy Reynolds (114) – 605 lbs total, Jamar Brown (198) – 1,335 lbs total, Jatravis Freelon (275) – 1,275 lbs and Jacquez Jackson (SHW) – 1,305 lbs all took 1st place.
Jackson and Brown both set division records on the day. Chris Thornton (220) advanced with a 2nd place finish along with Josh Byrd (242), Rod Freelon (SHW) and Carlos Cervantes (220) who all placed 3rd. The team ended up with 45 points (12 points behind first) and will be looking to punch their tickets to Jackson on March 7 for north half. The Trojans are coached by Jordan Graham and Yarnell Marks.
