The Vardaman Lady Rams will open the state playoffs Monday night at home against Jumpertown.
The Lady Rams are a two seed after a second place finish in the region 4-1A tournament at Hamilton. A win Monday and the Lady Rams would face the winner between Myrtle and Ray Brooks on Friday with a trip to Jackson on the line.
Vardaman earned the home game Monday night by winning twice in the region tournament.
The Lady Rams defeated Smithville 52-26 in the region tournament opener on Tuesday.
Vardaman opened the game on an 18-2 run and were never challenged from there. Alaysia Madkins led Vardaman with 15 points. Shylysses Rimmer added 14.
They followed that with a 50-36 win against Houlka in Thursday’s semifinal.
Shylysses Rimmer led with 19 points and Alaysia Madkins scored 13.
Wintry weather postponed the final until Saturday where they lost to Coffeeville 65-56. The Lady Rams enter the state playoffs with an overall record of 16-14 for the season.
