A record number of vendors are scheduled to participate in the Calhoun City Chamber’s “Spring Fling” on Thursday, March 19 from 5-7 p.m.

Laura Edwards

Chamber President Laura Edwards told the organization at their regular lunch meeting Tuesday that 24 vendors have already registered providing a wide selection of “fresh and exciting ideas” from local merchants.

In other chamber news, Sister Judy Sinnwell said a plan is being developed for new leadership with the Chamber’s Green Committee, which she has led the past several years including when it served as the impetus for the countywide recycling effort. Sinnwell is scheduled to retire in June and return to her native Iowa.

“We’re going to miss her terribly,” Edwards said of Sinnwell. “She’s been an incredible asset for our county.”
Edwards said progress is being made for programs for the upcoming Walkabout Wednesdays that will start in May and for the annual SquareFest festival.
Clista Ash provided the program for the meeting speaking on her latest novel “The Evidence.”
