Bro. Ed Pettit

Bro. Edward J. Pettit, 86, of Bruce, died Friday, Mar. 20, 2015, at Bruce Community Living Center. Born August 5, 1928 in Elzey,  he was the son of the late Hosea Pettit and the late Annice Moore  Pettit. He was the husband of the late Josephine Pettit. He was retired from Brookwood Furniture. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and he also served as a Baptist minister for 53 years in Calhoun, Chickasaw, and Pontotoc counties.

Surviving are son, Philip (Virginia) Pettit, Bruce; daughters, Brenda (Larry) Snellings, Bruce; Jane (Mark) Johnson, Conway, AR and Teresa (Quintin) Mayhan, Bruce; grandchildren, Christi Galloway, Shawn  Snellings, Brad Pettit, Michelle Dugard, Trent Snellings, Brent Snellings, Eric White, Jaret Prestage, Casey Prestage, Ashley Tutor, Kirsten Mayhan, Tiffany Lafferty, Carrin Johnson, and Malia Jones: 25 great grandchildren and a sister, Betty (Kenneth) Hudson, Louisville. He was predeceased by brother, W.J. Pettit, and sisters, Virginia Pettit, Loretta Skyles and Inez Collins. A funeral service was Sunday at 2 p.m. at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with  Bro. Don R. Vaughan and Bro. Ed Easley officiating. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery, Bruce. Pallbearers were Brad Pettit, Casey Prestage, Jaret Prestage, Brent Snellings, Shawn Snellings, Trent Snellings and Brennan Wright.Honorary pallbearers were Michael Cook, D.J.
