Billy L. Grist, 82, Bruce, died Saturday, March 21, 2015, at Community Hospice House in Verona. Born June 22, 1932 in Sarepta, he was the son of the late William Grist and the late Clara Logan Grist. He was the husband of Marjorie Winter Grist. He served in the Army and was a Veteran of Korean Conflict. He was a member of Sarepta Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife Marjorie Grist, Bruce; a daughter, Kathy (Todd) Simon, Calhoun City; brother, William Don Grist, Oxford; grandchildren, Corey Clark, Clint Grist and Cody Grist, and great grandchildren, Alden Lane Clark and William Gage Grist. He was predeceased by a son, Marty Grist, and sisters, Faye Grist Drewry and Martha Sue Grist Murphree.
His funeral service was Monday at 11 a.m. at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment was in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Bruce. Pallbearers were Corey Clark, Gary Drewry, Ricky Drewry, Clint Grist, Cody Grist and Monte Grist. Honorary pallbearers were Tommy Bond, James Wilbert Grist and W. A. Grist.
