Pug Bell

Noel Lee “Pug” Bell, 83 passed away Saturday, April 4, 2015, at Yalobusha General Hospital in Water Valley. He was born  March 30, 1932 in Water Valley. After high school, he joined the Air Force and was medically discharged. In 1952, he married Hollie Field Boyle and they moved to Chicago. During his years there, Ford Motor Company and Fisher Body Motor Company employed him. In 1963, he decided to move to his future hometown Coffeeville. Upon return he started a business, Bell’s Service Station and Auto Parts. During the years he also owned Bell’s Wrecker Service and Bell’s Used Cars. He loved gardening and sharing his crop with family and friends.  He also enjoyed restoring antique cars and trucks and playing with his dog, Dude.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Hollie Bell; his son-in-law, Buddy Adams, Coffeeville; one sister, Louise Zackery, Southaven; six grandchildren, Jennifer (Cliff) Waldo,  Coffeeville; Christy (Scottie) Waldo, Grenada; Tony (Hollie) Bell, Coffeeville; Terri )Whitt) Gillespie, Pontotoc; Bud Adams, Coffeeville, and Bobby Bell, Billings, Mt.; five great-grandchildren, Dylan Hood, Cindy Goodwin, Laura Lee Goodwin, Austin Waldo, Reagan Waldo, and Harper Gillespie. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Goforth Crews; his two children, Billy Bell and Pam Adams; two brothers, Charles and Jewel “Boots” Bell.

Visitation will be 5 until 7 p.m. Monday, April 6, 2015, at Coffeeville First Baptist Church. Services will Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Coffeeville First Baptist Church with Bro. Truman Scarborough officiating. Burial will follow at Coffeeville Cemetery. Donations may be made to Coffeeville First Baptist Church in memory of Noel L. Bell.

Serving as pallbearers will be Edward “Crete” Jennings, Milton Hervey, Luke Purdy, Mike Coleman, Bud Adams and Bobby Bell. Honorary pallbearers will include Ben Harrison, Henry Dean Gray, Mike Stephens, Frances Williams, Dr. B. L. Hammack, Daryl Burney, Bobby L. Adams, Smiley Arrington, Jr., Tyler Wortham, Jr. and Wesley Ross.

Arrangements have been entrusted to McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada.
