Helon Grace Barton Cash Gibson, 99, of Calhoun City, died Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Calhoun Health Services Nursing Home in Calhoun City. She was born November 17, 1915 in Calhoun County, the daughter of James Barton and Mary Shaw Barton. She was a retired beautician, and member of Calhoun City First Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher for 15 years. She was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ, devoted mother and grandmother, gifted artist, who treasured every friend and lived her faith by example.
Her funeral service was Saturday, April 4, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Pryor Funeral Home in Calhoun City with Mike Smith officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Calhoun City. Pryor Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Tommy Barton, James Barton, Michael Barton, Keith Cash and Dewayne Cash.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Cash (Bob) Pacheco, Hoover, AL; her son, Huey Thomas (Sandra W.) Cash, Jr., Ventress, LA; six grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by first husband, Tom Cash and second husband, A.G. Gibson, Sr.; one sister, Elvie Barton Putman; and two brothers, Graham Barton and Jewett Barton.
