Wagner, Tindall earn STAR student teacher honors at Calhoun Academy

Keely Wagner has been named as a STAR (Student-Teacher Achievement Recognition) Student for the 2014-2015 school year by the Mississippi Economic Council M.B. Swayze Foundation, sponsor of the STAR program.

Keely will be honored during the annual Education Celebration on April 30 at the Jackson Convention Center in downtown Jackson.

Keely is the daughter of Ralph and Tammy Wagner. She has participated in Beta Club, Science Fair, ABC Competition, All A Honor Rolls, Art Competition, and many more activities. Keely plans to attend Millsaps or the University of Mississippi to study biochemistry or pharmacy.

Each STAR Student is asked to designate a STAR Teacher, the teacher who has made the greatest contribution to the student’s scholastic achievement. Keely chose Angela Tindall as her STAR Teacher.

Ms. Tindall teaches grades seventh and eighth grade  science, Chemistry, Biology I, Biology II, and Advanced Senior Science. She has been teaching for nine years and was named STAR Teacher in 2012. She graduated from the University of Mississippi with a BA in biochemistry, and in the summer of 2015, Ms. Tindall will receive her masters in forensic science from the University of Florida.
