Dayna Shae Collins Norman, 37, of Big Creek, died August 5, 2013 at her home. She was born December 19, 1975 in Bruce. She was a 1993 graduate of Bruce High School. She was a graduate of Holmes Community College with her AA degrees in nursing. She was a member of Emergency Nurses Assn. and Big Creek Baptist Church. She was an RN at NMMC in Tupelo.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-9 p.m. at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce. Her funeral service will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home chapel with Dr. Daniel Hathorne officiating and Bro. Jon Haimes assisting. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Cemetery in Big Creek. Pallbearers will be Terry Bounds, Buddy Collins, Joby Collins, Buddy Litton, Bryant McCarty, Barney Norman, Mike Norman and T.J. Pickering. Honorary pallbearers will be NMMC E.R. staff and BHS class of 1993.
Survivors include her husband, Scott Norman, Big Creek; her daughter, Courtny Norman, Big Creek; her parents, Benny and Barbara Mahan Collins, Pittsboro; her sister, Dawn (Jeff) Ruth, Caledonia; her grandmother, Mabel Collins, Tupelo, and formerly of Bruce, and nieces, Blaire Ashlye and Cheyenne Ruth; her uncles Albert and Fred Collins, and uncle and aunt, Pop and Bobo Byars; Beth Howell, her BFF, and her NMMC family. She was preceded in death by an infant sister, Jennifer Allisha Collins, and her grandparents, L.D. Collins, and Jack and Bertis Ferguson Mahan.
