James Russell Doolittle, 76, of Gore Springs died Monday, Sept.14, 2015 at Grenada Living Center. He was born October 26, 1938 in Webster Co., the son of Woods and Una V. Pryor Doolittle. He was a farmer, member of Philadelphia Baptist Church in Cadaretta and he was a Mason.
Visitation will be Thursday, Sept. 17, 2015 from noon until service time at 2 p.m. at Pryor Funeral Home in Calhoun City with Bro. Eugene Heimbach officiating. Burial will be in Philadelphia Cemetery in Cadaretta. Pallbearers will be Henry Pullen, Anthony Pullen, Kirk Chism, James Chism and Owen Pullen.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Logan Doolittle, Gore Springs; two daughters, Mary Anne (Reb) Byrne, Horn Lake; Debra P. (James) Chism, Orange Grove, TX; three sons, Russell W. “Russ” (Margarita) Doolittle, Grenada; Henry O. (Lynoir) Pullen, Hernando; Anthony O. Pullen, Memphis, TN; one brother, Sterling (Tootsie) Doolittle, Gore Springs; six grandchildren, Kacie Doolittle, Owen Pullen, Nikki Lanphere, Farris James, Kirk Chism, Layne Pullen, and four great-grandchildren, Wyatt James, Truett James, Emma James and Anna Pullen. He was preceded in death by his parents.
