Derma Board of Alderman voted to put up a new street light in town and accepted bids to get a dead tree removed from a right-of-way.
A street light will go up at the intersection of Enochs and Nabors, an area that board members agreed was “dark.”
The bid of Jacob Russell for $1,100 was accepted for removing the dead tree at 109 Church Hill Dr. Russell’s bid includes cutting the entire tree down and removing it.
The board also approved the FCC license renewal that is needed for the radios for the water wells and approved the tax rolls for 2015-2017.
In another matter, the board approved renewing the fire cd at the highest rate possible.
Training for Clerk Deneen James was approved for the MS Clerks’ Conference in Jackson in December.
In a final matter, the board approved a sewer bill adjustment for Clovis Mabry and replaced his water meter.
Clerk Russell reported bad debts– Heather Goodson, John C. Kendall and Alton J. Lyles.
City Hall will be closed Nov. 11 for Veterans Day and Nov. 26-27 for Thanksgiving.
Aldermen Andrea Corbitt was not at the meeting. The next board meeting will be Tuesday, Dec. 1.
